MEXICO: Fifteen beheaded bodies were found near Mexican beach of Acapulco as part of a wave of drug violence that is sweeping through the country.
The state of Guerrero’s public security office on Saturday said that the bodies were found near a shopping center in Acapulco. They were dumped by a drug group members fighting over the control of the drug business in the city.
According to the police report 15 decapitated bodies between 25 and 30 years of age were found besides the Plaza Senderos shopping center.
“The heads were found in one single place, with the exception of one that was half severed from the body and with an impact of a projectile from a firearm,” the report stated.
More than 3,000 people have been killed in battles among rival drug gangs and security forces since the government launched a major military crackdown in 2006.
