KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) has been included amongst six Universities of Pakistan to have research grant on the basis of their performances.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has increased research funding from 2 to 15% w.e.f from 1st January 2011 under National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) Program for six Universities of Pakistan. Besides, Dow University of Health Sciences other five Universities are Aga Khan University (AKU) Karachi, University of the Punjab Lahore, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, University of Agricultural Faisalabad & PMAS-Arid Agricultural University, Rawalpindi.
HEC has initiated this program under which faculty members and researchers holding regular positions at public sector universities can get facilitated from this program. These research grants are normally provided for one to three years. Under this program, financial support is provided for research projects in the areas of Sciences, Management Sciences, Engineering and Technology etc. The project funding is purely for maintaining and smooth running of research office established in the Universities.
The increase in the funding project is given on behalf of submission of Research Proposal Report by the Research Department of Dow University of Health.
