Will the Gilani government survive? This question arose in every mind after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, quit the coalition that rules Pakistan.Now the Gilani government has support of only 157 members while the opposition parties have 174 seats. Senior lawyers told The News Tribe that any party may now ask Gilani to seek a vote of confidence. Pakistan Muslim League N, the largest party after the ruling Pakistan People’s Party, has made it clear it will not become part of efforts to unseat the present government.
The Prime Minister has said his government would continue even after the departure of two important coalition partners.
But Mazhar Abbas, a senior journalist, said that Gilani might resign as early as Monday morning. –TNT Monitoring
