Washington: The bill seeking temporary protection for illegal Pakistani immigrants in America has become ineffective prior to its approval, as the US Congress has completed its tenure.
Pakistani community staged a protest outside the Makki Mosque, demanding legislation to protect the illegal immigrants from their country.
On the occasion, TPS Committee Coordinator Saleem Rizvi said that President Asif Ali Zardari should take up the matter with his American counterpart to protect the Pakistani illegal immigrants.
US Congress member Yvette Clarke says she would take the matter with President Obama, adding that she would also take her fellow Congress members on board to re-table the bill in the house.
